When Shane and Roby first connected with J&J Construction, they were simply looking to make their hallway bathroom more functional for their two high school-aged sons.
After finding J&J through a Google search and choosing our team based on strong client reviews, that initial project quickly turned into something more. During their selections meeting, a bathroom display in our showroom caught their attention and sparked a bigger vision for what their master bathroom could be.
That first remodel led to more. With their kitchen now underway, this project reflects a growing level of trust, collaboration, and shared excitement at every stage.
The result is a home that not only works better for their family’s daily life but also delivers the elevated, refined spaces they had been dreaming about.
Hall Bathroom Remodel: Clean Design Built for Everyday Use
The first phase of this project focused on improving the hall bathroom used by Shane and Roby’s two sons, creating a space that could better support busy, everyday routines without changing the overall footprint.
A tub-to-shower conversion made an immediate impact, replacing the bulky tub with a clean, glass-enclosed walk-in shower.
A Bertch Bath vanity in a Graphite satin finish provides additional drawer space while adding contrast to the lighter finishes throughout the room. Paired with a durable quartz countertop and brushed nickel fixtures, the space balances practicality with a clean, modern look.
Hall Bathroom Design Details: Clean, Cohesive Finishes
To create a cohesive look throughout the space, 12×24 Breccia White tile was used across both the floor and walls. Installed perpendicular to the doorway and paired with warm grey grout, the layout enhances the sense of flow while helping the room feel more open.
The walk-in shower continues the same tile on the walls, with a 2×2 mosaic floor that adds both texture and slip resistance. A built-in niche provides convenient storage without interrupting the clean lines of the design.
Finishing details like Schluter® trim in satin nickel give the tile edges a crisp, polished look while adding long-term durability. Paired with soft wall color and consistent finishes throughout, the space feels simple, intentional, and easy to maintain.
Rethinking the Master Bathroom Layout: Making Space for More
While the hall bathroom focused on improving function, the master bathroom presented an opportunity to completely rethink how the space was used.
The existing layout included a large, underutilized closet that limited the room’s potential. By removing that space, we were able to open up the footprint and create room for the features Shane and Roby really wanted.
This change made it possible to incorporate a freestanding soaking tub, a spacious walk-in shower, and a larger vanity with increased storage, including a tall linen cabinet. What was once a constrained layout became a more open, balanced space designed with intention.
Thoughtful layout changes like this are often what make the biggest difference, not just in how a space looks, but in how it works for the couple every day.
Shower Experience: Built for Comfort
The master shower was designed to deliver a true spa-like experience at home. A Kallista plumbing system includes a rainhead, handheld, and multiple body sprays, allowing for a fully customized shower experience.
All functions are controlled through a thermostatic control panel, making it easy to adjust water temperature and flow with precision. Whether it’s a quick start to the day or a more relaxing, end-of-day reset, the system is designed for both comfort and consistency.
