Gorgeous Garage Addition in Naperville

A home addition, such as a garage, increases property value and creates additional space for homeowners for a variety of purposes. A workshop, exercise area, office space, bar area, or quite obviously, additional car space are just a few. Our clients wanted to expand their existing one-car garage into a two-car garage. As you look at the home’s exterior prior to renovation and after, you’ll notice brand new roofing and siding. Commonly referred to as Hardie board siding, this James Hardie siding is fiber cement, a material that has recently gained popularity in many upscale homes. This color is ‘Aged Pewter”. The siding is available in a variety of low-maintenance styles, colors and textures. Furthermore, Hardie board siding is non combustible and resists damage from moisture and weather. This durability provides homeowners with confidence.

The beautiful front entry door, cedar shutters and posts were all stained to match the garage door. This mahogany wood is a straight-grained reddish brown timber and is popular due to its rich hue and durability. In addition, it is pest-resistant, making it an ideal choice for exterior wood. Its attractive color is uniform, but can also hold paint and stain well. The cedar shutters add visual interest and style to the home, and the posts truly pop against the pewter-colored siding.

When looking at our home’s exterior renovation, your eyes are immediately drawn to the new brick paver driveway, walkway, and patio. By using the same material, there is a cohesion from front to back, and both are equally inviting areas. Friends and family can now gather under the beautiful pergola and share food and conversation. There are several different size bricks for visual interest as well as a contrasting border, which really highlights this area as an outdoor living space. This border and size variation carries over to the front walkway and door landing. It elevates the overall look of the home’s exterior, adding a richness to it that you don’t see often.
