We recently had the pleasure of completely transforming an outdated bathroom, removing a bulky tub and cramped shower to create a spacious, grand walk-in shower. With thoughtful design choices, beautiful materials, and a focus on maximizing space and luxury, this renovation turned a dated room into a light, bright spa-like sanctuary. The vanity renovation brings elegance and function to this space, featuring a stunning Cambria quartz countertop in Warwick with a polished finish and sophisticated half bullnose edge. Warwick is a soothing collection of warm and cool grays on a white base, punctuated by black dots that add complexity and character to this pleasing design. The rich, warm tones of the Bertch Marketplace slab drawer cabinets in Kodiak semi-gloss provide a gorgeous contrast, enhanced by their full overlay design for a seamless look. A standard backsplash ensures a clean and cohesive aesthetic, while the Kohler Caxton oval white sink pairs perfectly with the Simplice widespread faucet in brushed nickel. This is a timeless touch. Completing this transformation, a 24” x 36” oval beveled mirror adds depth and light, making this brand new vanity a stylish and inviting focal point of the bathroom.
Tile selection plays a crucial role in the overall design aesthetic of a bathroom renovation. Factors like color, texture, size, material, and installation contribute to its style and vibe. For this project we’ve utilized 12×24 matte cross-cut tiles in ivory, complemented by grout in “Biscuit”. The baseboard includes 3×24 bullnose tiles in ivory as well. The main floor tiles are installed perpendicular to the doorway, making the room appear larger and visually interesting. In the shower you’ll notice the same ivory tiles on the wall, while a hexagon pattern adorns the shower floor. This honeycomb pattern adds a uniqueness to the space.The porcelain tile is from In.Contro., and has the look of travertine. We’ve included a corner shelf for shower storage, an absolute must in any bathroom.
When first meeting with our clients, it was clear they were looking for a large walk-in shower more aligned with their day-to-day lifestyle. By removing the old bathtub and small shower, our designers had ample room to create the perfect deluxe walk-in. Inside there is a large bench seat in the same quartz in Warwick. We strongly recommend a shower bench for comfort, accessibility and convenience. It is a cool tone that exudes elegance. The shower boasts a handheld showerhead by Simplice and corresponding brushed nickel plumbing hardware. We’ve incorporated standard ⅜ inch glass to really give that open airy feeling, and a towel hook was installed directly on the glass above the threshold.
Our wonderful clients supplied the wall accessories, vanity hardware in brushed nickel, and the vanity light. You’ll also notice that they went with a bright yet subtle paint color by Benjamin Moore called Pale Honey from their Regal collection. Offering just the right amount of radiance without being too overpowering, this shade is soothing yet cheerful, a great way to start your day.
