A Master Bath with Lofty Ambitions
This Aurora Master Bathroom remodel is a fantastic blend of subtle color shifts and airiness. Natural textures are a highlight here – let’s take a tour of this open-plan space!
High ceilings were already a dramatic focal point in the bathroom. Our team worked to maintain the feel of overhead spaciousness, with light tones, a hint of greige, and glass. The homeowners chose Benjamin Moore’s Sharkskin for the new bathroom’s walls. This fresh shade looks fantastic against lighter tones – adding just the right amount of contrast.
A freestanding tub provides a standing invitation for luxurious soaks. The Sterling Spectacle model looks like sculpture – but is also designed with an ergonomic interior. Perfect angles and a center drain allow the owners to relax in complete comfort.
Nearby, the shower maintains the spacious look the owners craved. With glass walls that allow all the light to shine through, it enhances the openness. The corner location is packed with luxurious touches, including a quartz sill, tiled wall niche, custom towel hooks on the glass, and Kohler Devonshire fixtures in Polished Chrome.
A variety of textures from nature are used on the shower walls and tub area. First, Eon Carrera Matte 12×24 Tile introduces the gray tones you’ll see throughout the space. The look of natural marble veining provides a subtle texture and harmonizes perfectly with the border tiles.
Bliss Iceland Glass and Stone Linear Tile adds a hint of shimmer to walls and makes the shower niche pop. The array of grays picks up the color of the shower floor tiles: Clash Wish 2×2 Tile, which was inspired by the look and feel of natural quartzite. It also picks up the grounding color pathway of the bathroom floors: Clash Essence 12×24. This ceramic tile mimics slate, but without the high maintenance!
At the other end of the master bathroom, our team added new vanity and wall cabinets by Woodharbor. Their Breeze line in Platinum looks polished – especially with the Belmond door style. Adding finished sides to the upper cabinet also added the feel of fine furniture – we used the same Belmond door style.
The vanity was topped with HanStone Specchio White Quartz – featuring a random splatter of cool grays and greiges against a clean ivory background. You’ll also see this on the shower sill and ledges. Classic Kohler Caxton Rectangle sinks with Kohler Devonshire fixtures in Polished Chrome finish out the counter area.
