Do you have a showroom I can visit?
Yes. Our Showroom houses everything you need in ONE spot. Our Showroom is located right in Aurora, IL, and is built specifically around the needs of our customers. It has absolutely everything you need to remodel your bathroom, kitchen, or anything else. Set up an appointment on our website!
Why is a phone conversation necessary before you come out to give me an estimate?
A quick phone call helps us cut down on unnecessary back-and-forth. It’s a way to swiftly figure out if J&J Construction is the right match for you and your project. Sometimes, certain jobs might not align with our business model, and we want to avoid wasting your time with an unproductive meeting.
Do you give free estimates?
Absolutely. After our initial consultation, we’ll give you a ballpark figure based on our experience with projects of similar size. This estimate is good for setting up an initial budget and deciding if you want to move forward with the project.
The final budget will be determined after the design and planning stage, once all material selections are made, and the full scope of work is defined.
How much does a remodeling project cost?
Determining the cost of a remodel is not a straightforward calculation based on square footage alone. Essentially, it depends on the space.
Considerations include whether we’re constructing sizable additions, kitchens or bathrooms with electrical, plumbing and ventilation requirements, or structural changes. Choices of materials also contribute to the overall price and can vary widely.

The construction process will only start once you have given your approval for the detailed 3-D views of your project design. Nothing is installed until your rendering is refined to your satisfaction.
Can J&J Construction help with project permits and approvals?
Yes! We have experience navigating the permit process and working with local authorities. Our team will handle all necessary permits and approvals to ensure your project complies with building codes and regulations.
How do you prevent dirt and dust from spreading to other parts of my home?
While remodeling projects can generate significant dust and dirt, we implement measures to minimize the impact during construction. We utilize plastic dust barriers and drop cloths to protect your home and contain the mess. HVAC registers in the work areas are covered. We frequently employ HEPA filter air scrubbers utilizing negative air pressure techniques to limit the spread of dust to other areas of your home. Our commitment to dirt and dust control is paramount, and our team is highly conscientious. We strive to ensure your experience remains as pleasant as possible by taking proactive steps to manage dust and maintain a clean environment throughout the project.
How long will my project take?

How will I know the construction schedule?
Our customers consistently give positive feedback about our scheduling system. In fact, they love it. It’s online, so you can access it whenever you want, day or night. Plus, there’s an app you can download to log in straight from your smartphone.
Can I make specific selections for my project?
Certainly! You have the freedom to choose specific products for the project. Our selections coordinator in our showroom is there to assist you in making important material choices like cabinetry, tile, countertops, and fixtures. Additionally, we collaborate with local vendors and use their showrooms for other product selections.
Will you install materials that I purchased?
Regrettably, we no longer undertake projects where clients provide the materials. In the past, we faced challenges with damaged products and unfamiliar installations. Our partnerships with our vendors help us handle issues like damaged goods, unique installations, and access to product information.
What if there are changes to the plan after we sign the contract?
Any adjustments to your project’s scope after signing will go through a “Change Order”.
A Change Order is like a project update – it’s a document that notes any changes to the original construction contract. It spells out what’s different in the scope of work, the extra services needed, and how it affects the project’s budget and timeline.
At J&J Construction, we make things easy by sending Change Orders through our online scheduling and communication software. You can digitally sign them, making it quick to find and review any changes. This keeps you in the loop about the project’s total cost and schedule, ensuring no financial surprises when the project wraps up.
